As mentioned earlier this year, we’ve been working on package of upgrades to RailMiles.
We’re delighted to say that we have now released bundles so you can buy subscriptions to RailMiles journey logging and RTT+ at the same time at a small discount to buying separately. The prices are:
- 1 month: £10
- 3 months: £17.50
- 6 months: £30
- 12 months: £50
You can subscribe now in the subscriptions portal.
You can only purchase the bundles if you don’t already have RailMiles & RTT+ or the expiry dates of both are the same.
If you already have an RTT+, or RailMiles subscription (or even both!), you can upgrade your subscription to include the other. The subscriptions service will automatically calculate the appropriate price to upgrade and align your subscriptions, and at your next renewal you will be able to buy the bundle.
RailMiles login migration
As part of this rollout, we’ve moved RailMiles over to using our new RTT unified login - the same one that we use for RTT+.
Existing users will need to migrate across to the new login and merge their accounts. There’s no rush - but you will need to do it before you next renew your subscription as you can no longer do this inside RailMiles. All subscription renewals can be made within our subscriptions portal.
Don’t worry - when you merge your account it’ll automatically copy your subscriptions across and you won’t lose anything.
RailMiles migration FAQs
Why are you requiring accounts to be merged/migrated?
We recently launched a new accounts system as part of our launch of RTT+, a subscription service for Realtime Trains. We elected to launch a new accounts system as the system underpinning legacy RailMiles accounts dates from the early 2010s and would require significant work to bring up to current security standards.
New RTT accounts benefit from significant security improvements for your data, isolating your login credentials and payment information away from RailMiles.
How does the merge process work?
You will need to register a new Realtime Trains login and then use that account to login to My RailMiles.
Click the ‘Merge Account’ button on the dashboard and follow the process. You may need to login using your RTT login details again to ensure you have a subscriptions account. You’ll need to login to your RailMiles account during the process.
The system will then transfer all of your journeys and subscription to your RTT account.
Why can I no longer renew my subscription on my old account?
To cater for future functionality plans, we need to move all subscriptions over to the RTT subscriptions portal. It would be very challenging for us to support subscriptions being made by both the portal and within RailMiles.
Will I lose any data?
All your data and settings are transferred during the migration process and we make frequent backups of your data.
How do I upgrade my existing subscription to add another product?
You’ll need to upgrade by selecting the product you want to add. It’ll then provide upgrade pricing.
If you already have RailMiles and RTT+, then to align your expiry dates you’ll need to add the product that has less time remaining. For instance, if you have RailMiles which expires in July 2026, and RTT+ which expires in May 2026, then you’ll need to upgrade by adding RTT+. The upgrade price will take into account your existing subscription.
I’m just a mileage engine subscriber, does this affect me?
Yes. Next time you want to renew, you’ll need to merge your accounts.
I’m just a mileage engine subscriber, can I upgrade to add RTT+?
No, the bundle offer and upgrades provide access to RTT+ and the full RailMiles journey logging service.
Why are my old receipts unavailable?
Due to the way we’ve done the updates, receipts on RailMiles are temporarily unavailable and will become available within the next few days. If you need a receipt now, let us know and we can provide it to you through support.
I’m an international user, but subscriptions won’t let me renew.
