We’re delighted with the uptake of RTT+ since we launched it last week.
We’ve received a lot of feedback about the extended data history functionality and, following that feedback, we’re happy to announce that we have now been able to extend history to 5 years from our initially announced 6 months.
As a reminder, here’s the features on RTT+:
RTT+ Features
Ad-Free
You can now experience RTT for the first time completely free of third party advertising. As part of this we’ve made adjustments to every page to improve the ad-free user experience.
Enhanced data history
RTT has long had an officially supported historical lookup limit of 7 days and this is extended to 5 years for RTT+ users.
Data download
Users of the predecessors to RTT, known in the enthusiast community as “Timetables” and “Rail Staging”, may remember that we for some time offered the ability to download data. We’re pleased to say that we’re reintroducing that for our expert users. You can now download data in CSV format (for Excel, etc) from our location search and train service pages in the detailed mode only.
All-day allocation history
At RTT, we’re delighted that with the rollout of train allocation information as open data recently we’ve been able to provide allocation information, and soon Know Your Train, across the remaining train operators that did not previously participate.
Since rolling out Know Your Train nearly 6 years ago, we’ve provided the ability to search for an item of rolling stock. RTT+ subscribers will receive a page showing all allocated services for the rolling stock.
- Ad-free usage removes third-party advertising from display on the Realtime Trains website.
- Data download provides a CSV formatted extract from service and location pages.
- All-day train allocation search will provide a list of all allocated train services with the requested stock when a search is performed via the Quick Search bar.
- Historical service & location lookup allows you to perform historical searches as least as far back as the defined period.
