CrossCountry, Britain’s most extensive operator, today becomes the next to join Know Your Train.
Know Your Train is our way of providing more information about the actual train operating than anything else. We will tell you what the train will look like, what facilities you can expect to find onboard and where your coach will be.
Realtime Trains and CrossCountry are working together to help you be better informed and travel safely by train.
From today, you can find information about the rolling stock operating on any CrossCountry service at the top of their service information pages. We’ll be showing where each coach is in the train’s formation and what the facilities are in each coach. We’ve added a luggage storage facility, indicated with a bag, to highlight the location of the large storage area on Voyager trains.
The nature of CrossCountry’s network means that their services frequently reverse and they attach and detach multiple trains together. All this means that any given service can have a different formation each day.
We’ve been working closely with CrossCountry over the last few months and have been making significant improvements, released earlier this week, to fully support the breadth and complexities of their network and fleet.
With CrossCountry’s participation, Know Your Train now reaches three of the four extremities of the rail network and is available on over 31,000 train services covering over 1.5 million miles every week.
